Circular tension tool or Tension Ring whatever you want to call it this is a neat tool when used properly.
Simple concept those two little fingers grab the keyway at the top and bottom.
The outer ring has some spring tension letting you apply tension to the top and bottom of they key way.
The lines indicate the amount of tension you apply but they are WAY off ...... you will not go past the first line.

So how to use it properly you can try if for standard picking but you will find that it takes up a lot of room and is just awkward to use.
But some pickers do like it for traditional picking. Where we find it is the most useful is with Snap Guns and electric picks.
It can help with setting an even tension and it also helps with hand position.
You can grip it from the top with one hand and work from underneath with the other.
That can be very helpful if you want to be standing and not crouching when working a door cylinder.
For electric and snap gun picking we recommend it
For traditional picking you are better off with standard tension wrenches or flat bars
